CELEBRITIES TO ATTEND VEGAN MUSIC FESTIVAL, WORLDFEST

(Los Angeles, CA) --- WorldFest, a solar-powered, vegan, and sustainable music festival that is slated to take place on Saturday May 16th will be attended by many celebrities interested in animal welfare, the planet, and a healthy lifestyle.  Tippi Hedren, actress and founder of the Shambala Preserve, Kathy Freston, bestselling author of Quantum Wellness, Captain Paul Watson from Animal Planet’s Whale Wars, Persia White from the hit TV series, Girlfriends, and Rory Freedman, author of the bestselling Skinny Bitch will be in attendance and speaking at WorldFest.

Other speakers and celebrity attendees include actress Linda Blair who now runs an animal rescue organization called WorldHeart Foundation, comedienne Judy Tenuta, child actress Saige Ryan Campbell, and health advocate Colleen Patrick-Goudreau. Musical guests at WorldFest include Phil Solem of The Rembrandts, The Chapin Sisters, Bonne Musique Zydeco, and numerous others.

The celebrities, all activists for health, environment, or animals, fit in well with the line up of WorldFest’s sponsors.  Whole Foods Market and SunFlour Baking Company are returning sponsors to WorldFest.  A pioneer in establishing a whole product marketplace, Whole Foods has a long history of environmental and animal protection policies and SunFlour specializes in vegan, healthy baked goods.  Lush, Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, is also a sponsor of WorldFest.  Lush is a purveyor of organic and vegan products and all of their products are vegetarian and the company even displays a boycott of the Canadian Seal hunt right on their website. Another returning sponsor, VegNews Magazine, which is geared to an audience that seeks discovery of vegan and cruelty-free living, engages in sustainable business practices using only soy-based inks and FSC-certified paper for their magazines.  VegNews magazine's pages provide the latest on all things vegan and many things green so its support of the vegan and environmental WorldFest is not surprising. Los Angeles’ local listener-sponsored radio station, KPFK, Pacifica Radio 90.7 FM, will be a presence at WorldFest and will showcase the many programs it offers to its listeners.  A fervently outspoken media outlet, KPFK has longed covered the importance of activism and social change. WorldFest’s Pet Adoption area is sponsored by Dr. Dolittle Million Dollar Mutts available on DVD May 19, from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

“We have great exhibitors this year with some amazing food booths, and the celebrities and bands are all energetic and fun to watch,” notes WorldFest’s Exhibitor Coordinator Andrea Gullo.   “It’s essential to us that all feel welcome and excited by the many activities that are available to people of all ages. Plus, pets are welcome too!”

WorldFest takes place at Woodley Park in Lake Balboa, adjacent to Encino on Saturday, May 16th.  For more information, visit www.worldfestevents.com or call 310-477-7887.
